Body of man found near Eston roundabout sparking police investigation

The death of a man is being treated as "unexplained" after police found a body near to a roundabout.

Police were seen near to a grassed area in Eston after concerns were raised for man on Sunday morning.

Crime scene officers were also at the site carrying out their own investigations into the death.

Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the arrival of emergency services at around 11.30am.

An investigation is now under way to determine the man's identity.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "Just before 11.35am today, Sunday, police received a report of concern for the wellbeing of a man at a grassed area off a roundabout near the Trunk Road Tesco.

"Officers and ambulance service colleagues attended the scene where sadly the man was pronounced deceased."

The force added: "The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained and officers remain in the area conducting enquiries to establish his identity and the circumstances surrounding his death."

Officers remained on scene after midday, with officers being seen conducting inquiries in the vicinity of a nearby beck.
