A man has appeared in front of a judge to deny making sickening child abuse images.

Paul Phillips is accused of making 30 indecent images on a Samsung Galaxy between November 14, 2015 and March 27, last year.

Over 20 of those images are alleged to be in category A.

The 42-year-old is also accused of attempting to meet a child following grooming.

That offence was allegedly committed between April 13, 2019 and May 4, 2019.

Phillips, of Danby Dale Avenue, Redcar, appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday where he entered not guilty pleas to all charges.

Phillips will now face a trial at the same court, which is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 1.

The trial is expected to last at least two days.

Recorder Richard Woolfall granted Phillips unconditional bail until his next court appearance.
