It's estimated eight police vehicles flooded the street and arrested a man

A Middlesbrough street was reportedly placed on lock down on Monday morning - with armed officers pointing guns at a house.

Witnesses say Costa Steet in the Gresham area was cordoned off as officers dealt with an incident.

A crumpled front door could be seen on the pavement outside a house.

Officers from the force's dog unit were also said to be in attendance at the street, which is just off Parliament Road.

It's estimated eight police vehicles were in the street, which is filled with terraced houses.

A police van remained parked there after armed police left.
